I am writing to express my sincere apologies for not being able to join you for our outing this weekend as planned. Unfortunately, an unexpected family event has arisen, and I am required to attend. I understand this may be disappointing, and I feel terrible for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Instead, I propose we reschedule our trip for the following weekend, if that suits you. The weather forecast for then is promising, and it might even be better for us to explore the park without the usual weekend crowd. I genuinely look forward to spending time with you and hope you can accommodate this change.
