It was summer, and my dad wanted to treat me to avacation like never before. He decided to take me on a trip to the Wild West.
We took a plane to Albuquerque,a big city in the state of New Mexico.We reached Albuquerquein the late afternoon. Uncle Paul, my dad’s friend, picked us up fromthe airport and drove us up to his farm in Pecos.
His wife Tina cooked us a delicious dinner and we got to knowhis sons Ryan and Kyle. My dad and I spent the night in the guestroom of the farmhouse listening to the frogs and water rolling down the river nearby.Very early in the morning, Uncle Paul woke us up to have breakfast. "Theday starts at dawn on my farm," he said. After breakfast, I went to helpAunt Tina feed the chickens. while my dad went with Uncle Paul to takethe sheep out to graze(吃草). I was impressed to see my dad and Uncle Paul riding horses.They looked really cool.
In the afternoon, I asked Uncle Paul if I could take a hoseride, and he said yes, as long as my dad went with me. I wasn’t going to take ahorse ride by myself anyway. So, my dad and I put on our new cowboy hats, goton our horses, and headed slowly towards the mountains. "Don’t be latefor supper," Uncle Paul cried, "and keep to the track so thatyou don’t get lost!" "OK! " my dad cried back. After awhile Uncle Paul and his fam house were out of sight. It was so peacefuland quiet and the colors of the brown rocks, the deep green pine trees, and thelate afternoon sun mixed to create a magic scene. It looked like a beautifulwoven(编织的)blanket spread out upon theground just for us.

Suddenly a little rabbit jumped out in front of my horse, causing it to neigh softly and tense up. My dad and I held on tightly to the reins, calming our horses. The rabbit, unharmed, hopped away, and we continued our ride, more aware of the wildlife around us. The sun was beginning to dip below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the landscape. We followed Uncle Paul's advice and kept to the track, enjoying the serene beauty of the Wild West.

We had no idea where we were and it got dark. The track seemed to wind endlessly, and the shadows of the mountains loomed large. My dad and I decided to stop for a moment, trying to get our bearings.幸好, we spotted a distant light that we hoped was Uncle Paul's farm. We urged our horses forward, the sound of their hooves echoing in the cool evening air. As we finally approached the farm, we were greeted by Aunt Tina's worried face, relieved to see us safe. The adventure had added a thrilling chapter to our vacation.
